Simargle (a dog with a body of a bird) is one of the most ancient creature of the Indo-Iranian mythology who lives on the tree of all seeds and who drops the seeds on the ground. Therefore they became a symbol of fertility. An image with a pair of Simargle also supports the idea of fertility. Another important function of Simargle was to be a mediator between the worlds and to rescue lost travelers.
